Application for Grover Beach City Council Vacancy
The City of Grover Beach is now accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Grover Beach City Council created by the November 6, 2018 election of Council Member Jeff Lee as the City's new Mayor. By a unanimous vote, the City Council decided to fill this vacancy by appointment rather than by holding a special election and would like to invited registered voters of Grover Beach to apply for the remaining term of the position until December 2020.
This decision opens the process to the public by asking potential candidates to apply for the position rather than being brought forward by Council Members. To apply, community members are asked to complete an application, and submit it to the City Clerk's Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018. The applications will be provided to the City Council for its January 7, 2019 regular meeting where the Council will conduct candidate interviews and make an appointment for this position.View the application (PDF).
