District Police Officer Program

With the new council districts created in the city, the police department has implemented the District Officer Program. The District Officer Program, a form of Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS), reflects a cooperative approach between the members of the community and their police department in addressing the causes of crime and other disturbances by increasing communication and developing innovative ways to resolve long-term or chronic issues.

The Grover Beach Police Department’s District Officer Program divides the city into four geographical areas, called districts, and assigns Senior Police Officers and Police Officers to assist community members in resolving long-term or chronic issues that currently affect or may develop within their specific district. Examples include:

  • On-going noise disturbance
  • Parking issues
  • Vandalism/Graffiti
  • Traffic issues
  • Drug-related issues
  • Neighborhood Watch Programs
  • Homelessness issues

FOR EMERGENCIES, PLEASE CALL 9-1-1.

For matters that need immediate attention, but are not considered emergencies, please call the GBPD at (805) 473-4511. For assistance or inquiries pertaining to long-term or chronic issues, please contact the appropriate Officer corresponding with the district you live in. Please note that there may be a delay in a response time from any of the following Officers due to individual work schedules, vacations, or approved leave.

We hope you find this program responsive and well-suited to your needs in addressing community concerns.
