The Public Works Department manages the City's wastewater collections system. Wastewater treatment is provided by the Southern San Luis Obispo County Sanitation District.
Sewer System Master Plan
The Sewer Master Plan was updated in 2019 to identify necessary capital improvements to meet customer sewer flows over a 30-year planning horizon.
Sewer System Management Plan
The State Water Resources Control Board’s Statewide General Waste Discharge Requirements for Sanitary Sewer Systems Orders require that the City maintain a Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP) which provides a plan and schedule to properly manage, operate, and maintain all parts of the sanitary sewer system. The City’s latest SSMP update was adopted in 2022.
The City of Grover Beach does not operate a wastewater treatment plant. All wastewater is collected in City sewers and transmitted to the SSLOCSD treatment plant located in Oceano.
